FAQ's

What are my obligations as a parent with a child enrolled at The Aaron Academy (TAA)?

Your responsibilities are to bring your child to the facility and pick him up on time. In addition, you need to provide at home support and help with completing classroom assignments, and communicate with teachers when needed. We expect everyone who can, to sign up for volunteer positions. Volunteer opportunities include desk duty, help with events, assistance with class projects, yearbook, and occasional substitute teaching. You are welcome to drop in anytime.

What time does school start and end?

Classes begin at 9:25 and end at 2:40. Please be prompt and know that The Aaron Academy staff will not be available to supervise students who are dropped off early or picked up late.

Do you take holiday breaks?

We generally follow the Boise School District calendar. Please see the calendar link on the left for dates and times of special events and holidays.

Are your classes aligned with Idaho State Standards?

State standards are not the primary focus of our classes. However, many of the standards are very broad and projects the students complete in class could easily meet the state requirements for a given grade level.

Do you have any specific religious affiliation?

We will not be teaching religion as part of our curriculum, nor do we require you to sign a statement of faith. The founders and staff do possess a Christian world view and all subjects will be taught with an assumption of belief in a central creator and higher power. Students volunteer to say a prayer at the beginning of each day.

Where is my money going?

The monthly tuition goes to pay for our meeting location, teachers, curriculum, taxes, supplies, equipment, copies, and consumable materials.

Is there a discount for multiple children?

In our effort to make this affordable to as many people as possible, we have offered the lowest possible price for all students. We are unable to offer any other discounts at this time.

Can I enroll for just one or two of the classes?

We will give first priority to full time students. After September 1, we will open any remaining spaces to part time students.

Are you using report cards?

Teachers will provide biannual assessments of your child's learning. Grading varies by program. Please see the description of each program for specific grading criteria.

Are you accredited?

No, we are not accredited. We want to remain independent of administrative and government standards which would limit our ability to respond quickly to student needs and interests.

When is my tuition due?

Tuition is due the first of each month payable by check, cash, or money order. We do not accept debit or credit cards at this time.

Is financial aid available?

Scholarships may be available in extenuating circumstances through unanimous approval of the TAA board members.
